A resident of Federal Way for 23 years, I’ve been in law enforcement since 1994 and currently a police commander on a regional SWAT team. I also have past experience as a school resource officer, narcotics detective, and lieutenant.
The diversity of the 30th Legislative District intrigued me and I furthered my understanding of the people that make this district unique – I took Korean and Russian classes and immersed myself in the language and culture. I have found that even a small amount of understanding of another language can overcome barriers that might normally be present.
Recent laws have restricted police from doing their jobs and have emboldened criminals. The drug laws are so relaxed that more and more people are dying each day from overdoses. We need firm, fair enforcement to make our communities safer, better places to work, live, and play.
