My name is Matt Gross and I am running to be your next state senator.
I was born at Swedish Hospital on First Hill and raised in Northeast Seattle with my 3 older brothers.
We grew up a neighborhood family.
We rode our bikes in the Fourth of July parade, went trick or treating on Halloween, and played touch football on Thanksgiving.
My brothers and I all went to Seattle Public Schools.
I went to Bryant Elementary, Eckstein Middle, and Roosevelt High School before going to Western Washington University.
I worked several jobs throughout high school and college. I was a cashier at the Northgate Toys R Us, a janitor at the university, and a bellhop at a hotel near the Space Needle.
After college, I went to law school at the University of Washington to pursue a life in public service. During law school I interned at the King County Council and the Seattle City Attorney’s office.
When I graduated and passed the bar, I started serving as a prosecutor for King County where I have worked ever since.
My wife Anna and I live in Maple Leaf with our son Theo. Anna teaches at a public school nearby.
We love going on walks to the local parks, restaurants and coffee shops.
We are so grateful to be a neighborhood family.
