bio of candidate

Our state politics mirror the national scene where the right wing and the left wing have headed to the edges leaving the legislative process to partisan majorities and minorities pitted against each other. I’ve been a Democrat, Republican, and Independent. Overall, I’ve realized both parties need to move to the center so that practical, sensible solutions can be crafted that solve problems, rather than just fire up the partisan base. After a 5-year break, I rejoined the Democratic Party in 2021 to do just that – to represent the center because that other kind of politics is like a wrecking ball swinging rather than a thoughtfully balanced political fulcrum. I’m neither left wing nor right wing. I’m in what I call the bipartisan wing between the 40-yard lines. Neither progressive nor woke, I’m liberal and conservative. My focus will be what’s best for the 36th, our state, and the next generation, not partisan ideologies. I envision empowering the center from both parties and caucusing with electeds at the center to legislate in Olympia. For 36 years the 36th has been my home. I’ve strengthened my community, run my businesses, and raised my family here. I respectfully ask for your vote.
